Internal Sales/Business Development Manager

Vacancy No: 5037 Title: Internal Sales / Business Development Executive Location: Outskirts of Milton Keynes, village location, own transport essential Role benefits: Basic salary [to £20k depending on experience] Commission based on sales [£5k] Life assurance equivalent to one year’s salary Sponsored CPD [continued personal development] based on agreed objectives Reporting to: Operations Director Role outline: Our Client is an established internet software company that provides assessment management solutions to regulated organisations. The role is designed to provide office based support to the team via new business sales, marketing and operations activities. This is a highly dynamic role that would suit someone who is ambitious and who wants to develop into field based sales, marketing or project management. Role objectives: Discover and qualify new business opportunities and generate new business appointments for the products through office based telemarketing activities (70%) Support clients over the phone (10%). Provide administrative and logistical support to the office and event based marketing activities (10%) Provide administrative and logistical support for implementation projects (10%). Mandatory candidate criteria: Telemarketing experience; experience of telemarketing / telephone sales would be a distinct advantage. Full, clean driving license; must have held a full, UK driving license [ideally] for two years. Excellent communication skills; must be highly articulate, confident, persuasive and be able to converse fluidly at executive level over the phone. Organisational skills; must be able to demonstrate experience of having to prioritise activities. 2 years customer support experience; must have experience of directly supporting business to business customers. Excellent IT literacy; should be able to use Internet explorer, Word, Excel and PowerPoint at an intermediate level. Should have experience of using the internet and internet based software. Experience of target driven objectives; should have experience of working to clear financial targets and deadlines. Ability to work in Milton Keynes office and away from home occasionally on events; the role is based at our Milton Keynes offices but will also require the candidate to work away from home for 1-2 days a quarter. Advantageous candidate criteria: Research experience; experience of using the internet, the phone and other methods to conduct market and product research. Financial services industry experience; experience of working in the UK Financial Services industry would be useful. Software industry experience; experience of working with software or internet technology would be useful. Marketing support experience; experience of providing support to direct mail, email and event marketing would be advantageous. Project support experience; experience of providing support to project managers and technical staff would be useful. CRM experience; experience of using systems such as ACT or similar would be useful. Experience of solution sales or SPIN selling; experience of working with complex sales cycles and proposal development would be useful. Key Tasks: Proactively contact predefined public and private sector organisations within nominated team vertical markets to understand their structure and strategy as it relates to the product offering. Cold call potential buyers and decision makers to qualify opportunities and generate appointments over the phone. Ensure that all contacts full understand the Company proposition and how it would benefit them. Work with the rest of the team to ensure that all goals for customer communication are met. Produce quotations and correspondence for clients and prospects as required. Maintain a current forecast of sales opportunities and update the pipeline forecast on at least a daily basis. Provide account management support to existing clients and prospects. Input and maintain all relevant information on the sales and marketing database including a record of calls, quotations and correspondence. Collect where possible, profiling information for use in marketing activities. Undertake activities to support marketing such as organise mailers, co-ordinate event logistics and provide information to clients and prospects. Undertake project administration activities such as managing communications and queries with clients on behalf of the technical and project implementation team. Additional responsibilities: Participate in off-site events such as trade shows and exhibitions. The candidate will be required to work the hours necessary to get the job done. There may be times where after hours and weekend work may be required. There is no overtime paid in this role.
